Volunteering

Looking for a volunteer for your organisation?

We have potential volunteers keen to find the right volunteer role. Register with the Volunteer Centre Lambeth and we will promote your opportunities to both newly registered and previously registered volunteers.

Registered organisations can expect:
* To have opportunities promoted on the national do-it.org.uk website
* Regular newsletters and e-news bulletins
* Access to a bank of policies and procedures and template documents on the recruitment, management and support of volunteers
* Access to advice and support in all aspects of working with volunteers, including recruitment, management and rention
* The opportunity to join a Volunteer-Involvers Network

Once we have received your organisation registration form and your opportunity form/s we will start to promote your opportunity/ties to volunteers on our database.

However, please bear in mind the following:
* We will not necessarily have met with a volunteer who has contacted you
* We will not have carried out any screening of the volunteers that contact you
* It is down to your organisation to assess the volunteers suitability for the role

We do set some very basic requirements for you to have in place before you access our services to promote your opportunities. This is to safeguard both yourselves and the potential volunteers. This would include things such as: insurance, health and safety procedures and appropriate screening for volunteers.

Our Good Practice Development Manager will be in contact you after registration to arrange a meeting to discuss these basic requirements in further detail and to provide advice and support on volunteer management. If you would like to discuss your good practice in volunteer management prior to registering, you can book a free appointment. Contact the Good Practice Development Manager, Sarah Yandell, on 0207 326 5488 or email gpdm@vclambeth.org.uk.

Could you use an extra pair of hands?

Want to play a part in reducing unemployment in Lambeth?

If you are an organisation in Lambeth looking for volunteers, then Volunteer Centre Lambeth’s new Elevate project could be what you’re looking for.

We are recruiting individuals who are committed to developing work based skills and gaining experience through volunteering with organisations in Lambeth. Tailored support and a training programme is offered to help individuals develop skills and achieve other personal development goals.

As an organisation taking volunteers on this programme, you can be sure that you have support all the way. Volunteer Centre Lambeth will help you to recruit a candidate with the skills that you need, and will act as a link between you and the volunteer, offering advice, support and dealing with any issues that arise.

The participants on the project will be Lambeth residents who have been un-employed for 6 months or more. Each individual will be taken through a thorough assessment at the Volunteer Centre before being accepted onto the programme to make sure they have the appropriate skills for the placement. Volunteers are encouraged to give a minimum of 70 hours volunteering over a period of 3-6 months.

We hope that through this programme and your willingness to participate, the volunteers will gain valuable experience, develop skills and build their confidence, enabling them to enter or re-enter employment.

If you feel that your organisation can accommodate this then please contact:
