Volunteer Organisations
Sport England Sports clubs provide the best opportunities to offer volunteer help to your favourite sport. Volunteer roles include coaching, administration, refereeing, driving and management. Visit the Sport England web site and use their Sports Gateways on-line database of local and national sporting contacts. Also find out about different programmes that Sport England run which are aimed at getting more people involved in sporting activities.

 Organises the Sports Leader Awards. These awards help people to become leaders in their local communities through sporting activity. Sports Leaders

 Disability Sport England provides, develops and co-ordinates opportunities in sport and recreation for people with disabilities. Volunteer roles include; reception, staffing phones, mail outs and general administration. Disabled volunteers are particularly welcomed (there is good access). Sport Leaders

Time Bank Register online to access sports and leisure volunteering opportunities through Timebank’s sports partners, and receive a free Sports TimeGuide. The Sports TimeGuide contains detailed advice on how best to go about giving time to community sports organisations as well as how to contact Sports Governing Bodies and other National Organisations who always need volunteers for events and ongoing activities.

The National Trust Some volunteer roles are highly specialised and ideally suited for professional people who want to develop their skills and experiences by supporting specific projects, such as conserving, maintaining and improving our buildings. Other roles do not require professional or specialist knowledge, but still allow volunteers to learn new skills from using their wide-ranging experiences.

The Royal Society For the Protection of Birds Join one of their teams of volunteers that work all over the UK and help to create, manage and monitor habitats for birds and other wildlife. Or if you don’t fancy that, there are plenty of roles for volunteers to help out in RSPB offices, or in reserve shops and tearooms.

British Trust for Conservation Workers BTCV runs regular one-day conservation tasks all over the UK, during the week and at weekends. Amongst their other opportunities is a program for 16-24 year olds.

WorldWide Volunteering is a search and match database with hundreds of thousands of volunteer placements opportunities from 16-25 year olds in the UK and in 214 countries worldwide.

Other volunteer agencies
Do-It, an online database of nation-wide volunteering opportunities. This comprehensive resource will also give you details of your nearest volunteer centre as they are responsible for uploading the opportunities in your local area.

TimeBank is a national charity inspiring and connecting people to volunteer in their communities. Opportunities are varied as they depend on what skills people bring to the project.

 Submit an offer of services to charities on Goodwill Gallery unites members of the public volunteering their time and services to UK charities and non-profitable organizations by allowing charities to brows a current list of volunteers directly on their website.

Millennium Volunteers aimed at young people aged 16-24 who give up their free time to help their local communities.

 If you have skills and access to a reliable computer and the Internet, you could volunteer for an overseas organisation. Online volunteers might undertake assignments including research, web design, database construction and translation. Online Volunteering
