Volunteers

Do you want to volunteer?
Volunteering is simple. It's about giving your time to do something useful, without getting paid (apart from expenses). In return you get the satisfaction of time and effort well spent. In addition, volunteering can be a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and gain valuable experience. Volunteer Centre Lambeth, an LVAC project, can help you to find volunteer opportunities in Lambeth and beyond. We have many charities and community groups who need volunteers and are waiting to hear from you.

Remember, it’s FREE to register with Volunteer Centre Lambeth. You can register with us as follows:

• Print the registration form and send it to Volunteer Centre Lambeth at the freepost address on the form

Volunteer Registration Form

• Email us to request an electronic registration form at volunteering@vclambeth.org.uk

• Call us on 020 7326 5480 to request a postal registration form or to book an appointment to speak with one of our advisors

Once we receive your form, we will send you information on all the volunteer opportunities available which match your availability and interests.

Alternatively, if you have access to the internet, you can search for all our volunteer opportunities on www.do-it.org.uk. You can either search for roles across London through the search function or just roles advertised through Volunteer Centre Lambeth in the ‘Find a Volunteer Centre’ section. Once you have selected a role you are interested in you can apply through the website.

The benefits of registering with Volunteer Centre Lambeth include:

• Access to a diverse range of volunteering opportunities
• A team of expert advisors to support you every step of the way
• Regular information on new volunteering opportunities and other volunteering news
• Access to free training

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us on 020 7326 5480 or volunteering@vclambeth.org.uk. We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Are you an unemployed Lambeth resident looking to develop work related skills?
If so, volunteer with the Elevate Project!

Elevate is a new project which aims to help you to develop skills for employment. We will support you to find a volunteering placement of your choice, as well as offering you one-to-one support throughout the programme. There is also a fantastic training programme available to you once you register.

The FREE programme of support includes:

• A personal development plan - your chance to list what skills you would like to develop and how
• Free training courses on communication, confidence building, customer service, CV writing and preparation for interviews plus much more
• Support sessions where you will be able to discuss your volunteer placement and talk to other volunteers who are enrolled on the Elevate programme
• Regular e-bulletins and newsletters with information about employment and volunteering

You would need to be willing to volunteer for a minimum of 70 hours over a period of 3-6 months.

Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills, meet new people, improve your CV and give something back to your community. So, if you have been unemployed for over 6 months and are a Lambeth resident who wants to gain work related skills, then this project could be just what you need!
