Health and Social Care

The Health and Social Care Officer acts as a resource for voluntary and community organisations in Lambeth. The primary role is to develop a Health and Social Care Forum alongside servicing various health and social sub forums.

The Officer currently develops and services Lambeth’s Mental Health forum which will elect voluntary service representatives on to the Lambeth Health Improvement Board and its sub-boards.

In the future the Health and Social Care officer will work to develop voluntary and community sector forums in the fields of:

  • Children and Families
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Older People

The Health and Social Care officer acts as a resource for the Lambeth Voluntary and Community Sector by:

  • Keeping abreast and informing the voluntary sector forums of national developments and legislation as they relate to health and social care.

  • Supporting the voluntary sector forum members by providing briefings, appropriate training and seminars as required.

  • Contributing to health and social care strategies and policies within the forums and support input into the Health Improvement Board and its sub-boards.

The post is funded by Lambeth Primary Care Trust (PCT) and Lambeth Social Services
