· provide a progress check on the development of the Local Area Agreement;
· explore the emerging LAA Commissioning Strategy;
· share VCS experiences of groups already delivering public services under contract;
· provide information and signposting around emerging procurement and commissioning agendas.

Why are we hosting this conference?
As levels of statutory grant funding reduces over time and contracts become more common, this is an excellent time to begin planning for the future sustainability of your voluntary or community group.

The conference will also be a good general opportunity to network with VCS colleagues and statutory officers and get ‘signposted’ to commissioning and procurement information and agendas most relevant to your group.

As the role of the VCS moves away from traditional grants and towards contracts, a basic understand of these changes is vital for all groups.

EXTRA EXTRA: Does your group work with Children and Young People?
If so you may wish to attend the Children and Young People’s Forum, taking place at the same venue and starting at 2pm. Many thanks to the Forum’s Statutory and VCS Organisers for helping us accommodate the two meetings and allow VCS delegates the opportunity to attend both.

Delegates attending the Forum only are welcome to come to the Gearing Up conference at 1.15pm in time for lunch. To register to attend the Forum and receive a copy of the agenda please contact Katie Myhill at kmyhill@lambeth.gov.uk
