Using good partnership principles

Good/bad experiences of working with the Council/ Police/ PCT? - we want to hear from you!

Has your organisation had a really good or bad experience of working with the Council/Police/PCT? If so perhaps you should talk to Lambeth’s Compact Development Officer, based at LVAC. She can record your experience - anonymously if you wish - for the Compact Log (used to pass on good and bad practice to statutory partners) or advise you on what parts of the Compact might support your case.

Find out more about the Compact

You can contact the Compact Development Officer to: get a copy of the Lambeth or National Compacts, the supporting Codes of Good practice and other Compact information – by email or post; discuss your experience of partnership working with statutory organisations, get advice and/or record what happened to you for good and bad practice; find out more abut how Compact is informing agendas such as the Local Area Agreement.

The Compact log – recording good and bad practice

It is important to understand that the Compact is not a black and white issue - we will never be 100% Compact compliant or 100% in breach of its principles. But that doesn’t mean your group shouldn’t Compact for yourselves - to promote better partnership working and reward good practice. If you’ve had a good or bad experience with a statutory department, you could record it on the Compact log. This could be for example, a Council or PCT official who was especially helpful to your group. ON the other hand perhaps you’ve had a difficult time getting answers on a funding arrangement you may have. We want to build up a body of evidence to get a picture of how good partnership working is in Lambeth. The Compact Steering Group will look at the log periodically and use it to further promote Compact for everyone’s benefit. If you have an experience you wish to share – and you can remain anonymous if you like – please contact the Compact Development Officer and she will ask you a series of quick questions.
